Schedulewright builds your monthly day-and-night roster from rules your group weights itself, then shows the ledger behind every trade-off. No more spreadsheet weekends. No more “why did I get Christmas again?”
Every group already has rules. Most of them live in someone's head and get applied inconsistently at 11pm. Schedulewright writes them down as numbers and lets the computer take the blame.
Shifts and their hours, how many people each needs, closed days, holidays, and the rest rules that can never be broken.
Regulars with a baseline number of shifts, per diems with the dates they can cover, seniority order for the tie-breaks.
Days-off requests are worth more than block length. Weekend nights are opt-in. Turn a rule off, or make it absolute. Each one is a line with a number.
The solver searches hundreds of thousands of rosters for the lowest penalty score, then shows the ledger. Pin a shift by hand and it re-solves around you.
Some rules can never be broken. Everything else is a cost the solver tries to avoid, in whatever order your group decides. These are the defaults a 24/7 ICU group starts from.
Enterprise scheduling systems are priced and designed for whole health systems. Schedulewright is for the person in your group who currently does the schedule by hand.
Two shifts a day, 24/7, a handful of intensivists plus per diems covering the leftover nights. This is the group Schedulewright was written for.
Same rules, different roster. Run it as its own schedule alongside the physicians and see both on one calendar.
Overlapping shifts and busier hours are on the roadmap; today Schedulewright covers any fixed shift pattern, open hours or round the clock.
We're onboarding a few groups at a time so each one gets set up properly. Tell us about yours and we'll be in touch with access and a short setup call. Free while in beta, and your data stays yours.

No. It replaces the spreadsheet and the 11pm guesswork. Your scheduler still sets the rules, reviews the result, pins what needs pinning, and publishes. The difference is that the trade-offs are visible and the same rules apply to everyone.
That's the whole idea. Each rule carries a point value; when they conflict the solver picks the cheaper violation and the ledger shows you which one it chose and why. If you disagree, change the weight and rebuild.
Yes — each person gets a login to enter requested days off, per diem availability, and opt-in preferences like weekend nights. The admin sets the window and the deadline.
On Cloudflare's infrastructure, in a database that belongs to your group. Names, shifts, and requested dates — nothing clinical, nothing about patients. You can export everything at any time.
Nothing during beta. After that, a flat monthly price per group, sized for a department budget rather than a health-system contract.
